Is It Really Worth Saying?

So lately I've been thinking....Can I actually do this......? Can I make up stories for a Living? Can I, Delaney Barrett, stupid idiot, and therapist to all, home-schooler, awkward freak and just down right odd girl, can i really be an author that brings a smile, whether malicious or otherwise, to a person's face and make them open themselves up to reading? You think about the average teenager, all they care about anymore is sex, gossip, and technology that they take for granted. Could that person really just, on a whim, pick up a Delaney Barrett(or whatever last name I have when I get published, if I get published) book, and have it open their mind to people like Jane Austin, Bram Stoker, Charlotte and Emily Bronte, and everyone else that our, or our parent's, generation thought where classic literature. now I know that sounds like I'm comparing myself to, in my opinion, the greatest authors in the world, but I'm not. I know that no matter how good of a writer I'll ever be, if I ever am, I'll never be like them, or the plethora of other authors that I admire. but, to stop my rabbit trail, I guess all I can do is tell myself that you never know what the next generation will bring, I mean look at Hipsters, do you think their parents knew that they were breeding the most insipid generation when they decided to make whoopee? obviously not, because I think if they could look into the future and see their teenagers now, they would have probably played cribbage that night. so maybe, in life, we just need to take risks, no matter how much of the contents of your stomach is trying to rewind time by coming back up. so do we jump, not knowing what's at the bottom of the cliff, whether it's water or rocks? or do we turn back, and take a different path, until we run into another cliff with the same question posing itself to us? I guess I'm being dramatic, but am I really? I'm thinking about my future way more than any other teenager is, or at least the ones that I know. it's just been something I've been thinking about a lot lately. when no one seems to be interested in what you have to say, is it really that important? Do they really need to hear it?

Thoughts?

So I decided to make this post cause I'm a little stuck. If you used to read my blog you'll remember when I did the posts Dayla and the Dead Guy, and Meet Dayla, well I'm a little stuck, and I need some advice. The point I am at is that Dayla has already met the Martens, and Jones'(other Vampires that you haven't met yet) about a day ago her time, and she's cool with it all. She's still settling in, and isn't used to the whole public school thing and the fact that nine of her classmates are Vampires(a fact she knows immediately). she's already made an enemy, a pervert named Kreg who won't leave her alone. and her family(three older sister, the two eldest sisters' husbands, her aunt uncle and two slutty cousins, her mother's parents and her father's parents.) are all in town thanks to her mother mixing up the dates on which they would be arriving there. (As I have mentioned before I still haven't chosen a location[another thing I need advice on]). the basic premise is that a vampire, by the name of Marilyn Burkheart, comes out and Dayla(being a therapist to everyone she meets), has to deal with her family freaking out, her friends wanting to leave town, and some old, and new acquaintances' of hers, showing up in town, some seeking advice from our heroin. so I guess my questions are, when do I introduce Marilyn Burkheart? how close should Dayla get with the martens before her whole world turns upside down, and they leave? should they leave, or is that too cliche? and how should she deal with the Marilyn Burkheart issue?

leave your comments below. thanks'!

Wild Target

So I recently saw this movie Wild Target with Emily Blunt, Bill Nighy, Rupert Everett, Eileen Atkins, Martin Freeman and Rupert Grint, and if you watch a lot of British movies and TV like my family you'll see a face or two that you recognize. Well in the movie Bill Nighy plays the number one assassin, and Emily Blunt is his next job, also an assassin, but with a flair that intrigues him, then he saves her, and they meet Rupert Grint, who's a hobo, living in a parking lot, and ends up shooting someone who almost kills Bill Nighy, who is amazed because Rupert Grint has never touched a gun before, so he takes him under his wing, telling him that he's a "private investigator". it's an amazing movie, and Emily Blunt's wardrobe in the movie is amazing. so this is my take on one of her outfits.

Dress: Target
Hat: Target(by way of my sister Ashley)
Coat: Target
Stockings: Vintage
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Garter Belt:Vintage
